Team Mongoose

Intro

Since the inception of what is now known as Team Mongoose in 2002 the Team has continued to evolve and move forward with consistent results. Each year brings new challenges and with that new highs.

Steve Marsh began setting the trend with results at National and International Events with a 4th placing at the Red Bull Ride, Jindabyne. This result was quickly followed by Nick Kiraly and Lachlan Norris providing consistent results in the National XC Series. Later that year as part of a Six Man Team, Team Mongoose won the MONT 24HR race in the 6 Man Category. This was to be the catalyst for an all out assault on the MONT the following year. James Williamson was now on board and the 4 man Team of Nick Kiraly, James Williamson, Dylan Cooper and Richard Vollebrecht would be crowned overall winners of the MONT 24HR for 2004.

Before the dust had settled on the MONT victory Donna Hamlin was providing great results in the Elite Women's field of the National 2004/05 XC series where she would eventually finish second. The 2005 National Championships would not be kind to Donna as leading into the race Donna was hit by an illness that left her struggling on the day. Not to be deterred Donna has hit back, being crowned NSW State Champion and State Series Champion in September this year and looking for great results at the National Series and Titles we know she is capable of.

Another fork in the road presented an opportunity like never before at the start of 2005, enter Lisa Mathison and Michael Kearton.

After a year (2004) spent learning her craft as a professional MTB Rider in Europe Lisa was after some time at home to prepare for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Team Mongoose has only been too happy to provide the right environment for the future. Lisa's results speak for themselves.

Michael Kearton displayed some great skill when in his first race for Mongoose on a new bike, just out of the box he finished 8th in a World Class field at Mount Buller. At 19 years of age Michael has already traveled with the National DH Team as a junior and is hungry for more opportunities to take on the worlds best here and abroad.

At this year National Series be sure to say hi to the guys and girls in Orange!
